7th Annual Hope Garden Party

On Saturday, August 17, the Shepherds of Good Hope Volunteer Department put on a lovely event to celebrate our Hope Garden and our volunteers.

The guests were able to roam the gardens and enjoy refreshments on the lovely day.

We also had live entertainment from Paddy G and the Mennie Men with Neil Busch on the clarinet. Thanks for the great music!

We would also like to thank all who made this event possible, especially all of our volunteers that worked so hard all Summer to keep the garden plentiful with fresh, organic vegetables for our Soup Kitchen and Grocery Program. Thanks are also in order to our garden partners Rideau Nursery, Lee Valley & Greely Sand and Gravel.

Little Ray's Reptile Zoo

One of our supportive living residences, The Oaks, was recently visited by Little Ray's Reptile Zoo!  Our clients got to see some interesting creatures that they would normally never get the opportunity to see!

A Great BBQ!

On July 31st, Shepherds of Good Hope had it's Annual BBQ.  It's a special treat for our clients to dine on some hamburgers, hot dogs and salads while listening to live music.

There were hundreds served at this event and others kept coming back for more.  I would like to send my sincere thanks to those that made this entire day possible; Enbridge, Capital Beef and Just Lloyd.  Enbridge provided the barbecues and grilling all of the burgers, Capital Beef supplied hundreds of hamburgers and Just Lloyd provided much appreciated musical entertainment.

I would also like to thank our volunteers for helping us serve the clients at the event.
