Canned Food Drives in the Office

In the Summer, we tend to run low on our canned food items and non-perishable goods.  These items are used in all of our programs, including Supportive Living and the Grocery Program (which is open to anyone in need).

Volunteers in our Grocery Program

While speaking with Steve Stanley, Managing Partner of Newfound Recruiting this morning, I mentioned that we were running low on canned goods.  He had an incredible idea to help us out - he would ask every job candidate that comes into his office to bring in a non-perishable food item to go to Shepherds of Good Hope.  I loved the idea!

Steve Stanley also would like to see if any other business offices around town are willing to step up to the plate and have an office food drive for those most in need in our city.

If you would like to have a food drive for Shepherds of Good Hope, please contact Judy at 613-789-8210 ext. 223 or email judy@shepherdsofgoodhope.com

I am absolutely thrilled that Steve has chosen to take on this endeavor and I hope those of you that would like a fun, team building activity to do with those in your workplace will also participate.

Lemonade Stand

I just wanted to share with you that our donors come in all sizes.  This past weekend, my two nieces, Jessica and Sabrina took it upon themselves to raise money for our women's shelter.

The two girls got together and decided to run a lemonade stand with proceeds going to the ladies we take care of every day of the year.

Jessica and Sabrina's Lemonade Stand
Thanks so much to these girls for selflessly giving of their time to help some of the city's most vulnerable people.

Also, a glass of lemonade is a great refresher on a hot day!
