The Ducks

Here are a couple of regular visitors to our 233 Murray St. parking lot.  We love having them here.  Anyone have an idea on what to name the happy couple?

Volunteering and Donating Go Hand in Hand

Here at Shepherds, we are so greatful to have volunteers like Theresa Cashman. Theresa is retired from working at Bell, but she still participates in her company volunteering program.  For every 50 hours that Theresa volunteers helping the homeless, Bell will donate $500 to Shepherds of Good Hope!

This is Theresa's 5th time bringing in a cheque to go towards our programs that help the most vulnerable in Ottawa.

Thanks so much to Theresa and Bell!

We are so greatful for all of our volunteers and donors.  For more information on how to help Shepherds of Good Hope, please visit our website at http://www.shepherdsofgoodhope.com/

Visit from New Brunswick!

Today we had the pleasure of having Devon Park Christian School stop by our shelter and kitchen.  A group of 24 students travelled all the way from Fredericton, New Brunswick!

First they went on a tour of our men's shelter, women's shelter and our Hope Living, Supportive Living Program. They ate lunch from the kitchen as well.

After lunch, all of the kids got down to work and assisted with peeling vegetables for meals while others sorted canned goods for our food bank.

Rob and I proudly presented their teacher, Faye Best, with a certificate honouring them for supporting our cause.
We just love having students come by to visit!  Thanks for helping out Devon Park!

St. Mark's Sandwiches

Today we had the pleasure of having students from St. Mark High School drop of thousands of sandwiches! The students arrived right before lunch each carrying bags, coolers and condiments.

The ham slices were generously donated by Foodland in Greely.

Look at all those sandwiches!

They also dropped off plenty of jam, peanut butter, mustard and mayo!  Thanks so much to the students and teachers of St. Mark High School!
